To qualify for consideration of admission at HIU, a first-time freshman applicant must meet two of the following three criteria:
*All First-Time Freshmen must submit proof of high school graduation or completion by high school diploma/graduation, California High School State Proficiency Exam (CHSPE), General Education Development (GED) Test or College Level Examination Program (C.L.E.P.)
Applicants who do not meet minimum admission requirements may be considered for admission. Applicants may be required to submit additional documentation and may be subject to additional review processes.
While not required, it is recommended that students complete the following courses while in high school to better prepare them to succeed when enrolled at Hope:

The same admission requirements for first-time freshmen apply to home-schooled applicants.
Educator/employer reference information for a home-schooled applicant may not be a relative of the applicant. The Home-Schooled applicant must submit an official high school transcript, including date coursework was completed and grades received, at the time of application and a final transcript documenting the completion of high school when high school coursework is complete.
If the student cannot produce a high school transcript, they may instead document successful completion of the General Education Development (GED) Test and submit SAT and/or ACT scores.
